BEAUTY: Painting--Alpin Arda Bağcık

Turkish artist Alpin Arda Bağcık's nightmarish work is a comment on the state of the world, politics, war, and the delusion of power. In fact, all his works are named after medications given to patients who are suffering from mental illness. His use of the gas mask as a motif is particularly chilling. Despite the fact that these works seem to be set in World War I or World War II, the speak directly to the condition of the world today. What is to become of us?

Top to bottom: Haldol; Stilizan; Sulpirid; Thorazine; Tyoridazin

No dedicated website that I could find but he is represented by Galeri Zilberman in Istanbul.
